Bacup Zine kick-off!
The first workshop of Bacup Zine was a success!
On November 22, the first Bacup Zine workshop took place, facilitated by local artist Alex. No worries if you've missed it, as another workshop will take place on January 10!
This was a free drop-in style event from 10-16 h with people coming and going throughout the day.
Participants could engage in all manner of crafts such as collage, watercolour, acrylic paint, sketching, and writing. The works revolve around (life in) Bacup in one way or another (both past and present) as people took inspiration from their own life and surroundings as well as from the prompts and materials Alex had provided (such as photo copies of images from local history books, and photos taken at the Bacup Museum).
The contributions from this workshop and the one in January will be collated into a zine (a self-published magazine). Printed copies as well as a digital version will be freely available.
